SECRETARY - Doreen Bratby

Most of Doreen's working life has been involved in the Private and Statutory Sector within Health.   For several of those years she was employed with, what was then, the newly formed Local Health Council within the Dumfries and Galloway Region. She was also, a year later, appointed as Chief Officer to set up and run Stranraer Citizens Advice Bureau, both of which she ran concurrently until moving to Hertfordshire in 1981.   The ensuing years were spent in administration at the Hertfordshire College of Building and with NW Herts Community Health Council.  On retiring, she joined the Charity 'Mercy Ships' as a volunteer in the UK Office. She became a member of the, now extinct, Patient Forum, and is currently a Member of the Board of Hertfordshire LINks (Local Involvement Network).   Her mission throughout has been to seek to improve the quality of life of others.
